I wanted to make sure you knew about this upcoming event in the Bay Area - we're really excited about it, as the beginning of a series of dialogues between elders, emerging leaders, and all of us about the future of socially engaged Buddhism.
We need a few good volunteers to help with a secret mission, and to help out with welcoming people in to the space.
Can you help? Contact me or Katie to get involved!Looking forward to seeing you there! Forward to folks you know who would be interested!

Full event announcement:
http://bpf.org/whats-up-with-engaged-buddhismWe live in times of great suffering. Imperialism, genocide, gender oppression, ecocide, racism, war, and exploitation of beings remains the status quo. But we also see signs of hope for collective liberation: from courageous eruptions for justice to slow-simmering healing and transformation.
Rooted in the work of Vietnamese Zen teacher and activist Thich Nhat Hanh, Engaged Buddhism has developed into a diverse worldwide movement of Buddhists and dharma-friendly meditators. We seek to connect and collaborate with anyone applying spiritual insights to bring about material liberation.
Come and share your insights from your sanghas, spiritual communities, healing work, and justice work. The future of Engaged Buddhism is up to all of us.
