Ajahn Sulak Sivaraksa to Berkeley. A founder of the International
Network of Socially Engaged Buddhists and recipient of the Right
Livelihood Award, Sulak is renowned for his lifelong commitment to
Buddhist engagement in peace and justice work.
The Niwano Peace Foundation awarded the 28th Niwano Peace Prize to
Sulak Sivaraksa of Thailand on July 23 in recognition of his
contribution to a new understanding of peace, democracy and development
and to environmental preservation based on the core principles of his
Buddhist faith. On the verge of his 79th birthday, join Sulak as he
offers his wisdom on using Buddhist principles and practices as tools
for peaceful, sustainable social change.
