Hi friends -
In
light of the many transformative consciousness events
occurring at various Occupy sites, The Interdependence Project and
the Buddhist Peace Fellowship have teamed up to propose a large scale
meditation "action" connected to the Occupy demonstrations for Saturday
December 3rd, 2011. Communities around the globe will be planning
Meditation,
Yoga, Transformative Prayer and Wellness activities to foster
mindfulness, groundedness, and loving presence at Occupy
sites. Details are still being worked out, but there will be a suggested
collective event for Occupy sites to participate in together, a written
statement, and open space for folks to lead other transformative
activities.
Here locally, we'd like to have a conversation about what a December 3rd day of events
might look like at Occupy Oakland and other Bay Area Occupy sites. We're hosting a planning meeting on Tuesday, November 29 at 7pm at 2143 Blake Street in Berkeley. Each
of you have already been involved in great ways at bringing a
transformative presence to Bay Area Occupy sites - we're excited to see
what kind of day we can put together with our joint efforts.
If you're
interested in helping to plan and organize, please attend the meeting on November 29. You can also share your ideas over email. If you can't attend the
planning meeting but are interested in participating on December
3rd, we'll send a second email to keep you in the loop once events are
scheduled!
Looking forward to planning this day with you!
