Dear Bay Area Archivist Colleagues,
We are currently seeking out local vendors for a large-scale document digitization project, with an expected start date in the next couple of weeks and a completion target by the end of December. This project will involve: 1) scanning paper document originals of roughly 4000-6000 individual pages from the 1940s (some in fragile condition), across two cartons and two archives document boxes, and creating high-resolution color TIF images for storage on an external drive, and 2) digitizing one high density microfilm reel and producing output in the form of TIF files.
If anyone on this list has firsthand experience with local San Francisco Bay Area vendors who have performed these types of tasks for your institution, we’d be grateful to hear your experiences and recommendations.
Please let us know via the list, or contact the two of us personally through the work email for Anne Hall (Anne...@sf.frb.org) and me (Noah.Po...@sf.frb.org).
Many thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.
