Committee for the
Commemoration of 100 Years of the Great October Socialist Revolution
November 2017
To All Supporters of Working People,
The Committee for the Commemoration of 100 Years of the Great October Socialist Revolution is forging ahead with preparations for the marking of 100 Years since the October Revolution in 1917, which changed the course of history in favour of working people. This Revolution inspired millions of workers across the globe to struggle and win great gains, whether in the sphere of the Union movement, forging socialist parties, or defending the lot of oppressed people worldwide. The world political climate today, we are sure you will agree, provides fertile ground for such a potential political breakthrough.
In order both to learn from the history, and to inspire further struggle in this important period, we urge all supporters of the workers' cause to contribute what they are able to a fitting tribute for the epoch making event which was November 1917. An event is being planned for the period near November 7, 2017. For this, we are seeking endorsements from Unions, left-wing political parties and progressive organisations.
Thus far, the endorsing organisations are:
Retired Rail Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) Members - QLD
Retired Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU) Members - QLD
Australian Pensioners and Superannuants League (APSL) - Logan Branch
Fair Go for Pensioners Coalition
Australia-DPRK Friendship and Cultural Society
Workers League
We warmly invite you and your organisation to take part in this Committee, as a participant and/or as an endorsee. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 18, 6.30pm at the Trades and Labour Council Building, Level 2, 16 Peel Street, South Brisbane. We hope to see you there.
Yours in Struggle
