Hello BAUGOS geo-people. We have not met in a few months, so we should
probably meet sometime next month. Friday December 11th, or Sunday Dec
13th sound like good dates, since we have some OSGeo friends coming to
visit from out of town. I am proposing something low key, at one of
the local bars (Thirsty Bear?) to do some geotalk. Any thoughts?

Ok, no thoughts from others, so I'm going to vote for Friday, December
11.

If there is interest (anyone?), I will aim to get us some hosted space
in a non-bar settings, where we'll have a more formal setting for
showing off projects and recent work.

If not, I look forward to seeing you all at the Thirsty Bear around
6pm on Friday to talk about recent hackathons and conferences,
upcoming ones (ideas for building something cool together at the
google geo hackathon december 15?), and so forth.

Cheers,

-Josh

Ok - though nobody has commented publicly, I've had a couple hosting
offers and some interest in spending a little time "building"
something.

So this month our meeting (December 11, 5.30pm) will be at GreenInfo
Network (thanks!) and will be followed up by beverages (most likely at
House of Shields).

There's no strict agenda, so if anyone has something they'd like to
cover, let us know. Meanwhile, I'll put up one idea: Building a very
simple GeoDjango API for Layar (an augmented reality app for iphones
and android devices) that reads from some San Francisco public
datasets. I think we can run through this in an hour or so - anyone
want to volunteer to do the run-through with me?

And if anyone has a better idea, I'll happily go for that instead (or
in addition).

Looking forward to seeing you all at the end of next week.

Cheers,

-Josh
