I have been in child care for many years and I find some online courses are repetitious. I enjoy Care Courses very much. They are up-to-date with child care knowledge and current situations that children are dealing with today. Thanks for helping me fulfill my continuing education obligations." - Bellows Falls, Vermont

"What can I say, I loved everything about this course. Every person who has a child or works with children should take this course. As a home daycare provider and a mother of 4 1/2-year-old and a 3-year-old, the information I learned is invaluable. The way the course was set up with learning objectives, self checks and lesson quizzes for each lesson, was extremely helpful. I truly enjoyed taking this course and look forward to taking my next course. Thank you." - Verona, New Jersey

"I received my order on the 3rd and am very pleased with prompt delivery and the course content (all three courses). I have been an Early Head Start (prenatal to three) home visitor for 8 and 1/2 years and my first experience with Care Courses was three years ago when I needed CEUs to renew my CDA and the self-paced courses worked well for me. Each program year we are required to complete 40 hours of training and although several of the hours will be completed through agency trainings I wanted some training in areas that are directly related to areas of concern with my current caseload. The three courses that I am now taking do that. Thank you." - Norway, Maine

"Received the course just fine. As usual, I am enjoying this course. Almost done! It is full of useful information and some new activities to do with "my" preschoolers. On a personal note, I am a grandparent to a just over 2 year old and a 3 month old, so your course is a good refresher on a much younger note also."- Ocean Springs, Mississippi

Care Courses currently offers over 50 professional development courses and one non-credit training tutorial on the CDA process. All courses offer clock hours and an official online certificate of completion. The free CDA tutorial does not offer clock hours or a certificate.

To receive the CEUs and Clock Hours for a course, you must adhere to and sign our honor code, follow directions on written assignments and show comprehension of the course content. You must make 70% or better on all course quizzes. Less than 70% will result in trainer review and evaluation. If review indicates the need for discussion, you will be informed that you must speak with a trainer. If you fail to get a 70% on your second attempt, we will ask you to contact us at in...@carecourses.com. We will review your course and be in touch.

How people maintain and repair their self-esteem has been a topic of widespread interest. In this article, the authors ask, What determines whether people will use direct, remedial actions, or defensive actions? In three studies, they tested the hypothesis that a belief in fixed intelligence (entity theory) would produce defensiveness, whereas a belief in improvable intelligence (incremental theory) would foster remediation. In each study, participants assigned to the entity condition opted for defensive self-esteem repair (downward comparison in Studies 1 and 3; a tutorial on already mastered material in Study 2), but those in the incremental condition opted for self-improvement (upward comparison in Studies 1 and 3; a tutorial on unmastered material in Study 2). Experiment 3 also linked these strategies to self-esteem repair; remedial strategies were the most effective in recovering lost self-esteem for those in the incremental condition, whereas defensive strategies were most effective for those in the entity condition.

Toxic masculinity and peer pressure have done a lot of damage by preventing men from opening up and talking honestly about their self-esteem issues as it, apparently, crushes the concept of the alpha male. But no matter how much it is avoided, low self-esteem creeps into all areas of life unwittingly.

Men suffering from low self-worth might come across as really driven, competitive, and even wanting to change the world. This unstoppable hustle, however, could well be a grand camouflage to bury your own thoughts of being unworthy. Similarly, seeking attention from different partners can stem from your need to feel worthy, because they you feel that worth internally.

Rather than glorifying and justifying the impact of low self-esteem on people and their loved ones, this is your wakeup call to acknowledge your real self, notice the traits, and work them to become a better version of you.

In most cases low self-esteem arises in childhood or from a drastic negative life-changing moment like being bullied, having critical parents or loved ones, or growing up in an abusive environment. Such influences can lead to imbibing beliefs.

This requires a bit of revisiting and reflecting on the past. Try jotting down all possible negative self-talk and if you can, what triggered them in the first place. Remembering the incident can throw light on the possibility that the event might be insignificant in the context of the present and help you to clear the hype around your beliefs.

First, get in receptive mode to build up the momentum of believing your positive qualities. Gather close ones or colleagues and ask what they admire about you. It provides something to hold on to and believe about yourself. Journal it in a diary to remind you of your strengths and read through in the morning to start the day on a good note.

By now, you should have garnered some self-appreciation fed in with the above activities. It now becomes time to accept your shortcomings. Rather than looking at low self-esteem as damaging beliefs about yourself, look at it as an area of improvement. Accept that this has caused chaos, but also promise that within a dedicated timeline, through setting goals, you can make changes to progress in this area.

Instead of framing an affirmation, write down an empowering promise that you can work hard and put effort in to improve your self-esteem. This sets you on a goal-getting journey, rather than pointlessly attempting to accept a fake belief that your brain will reject.

I have been working in Software Engineering for many years ( and many is not just 5+ as you can see in lots of job ads for senior developer roles ) and in the last 4 years I have developed and architected many different projects with Serverless (using API Gateway and Lambdas, Aurora Serverless, DynamoDB, SQS, StepFunctions, S3 Object Lambda and so on).

There is sooo much stuff that I had so little knowledge of!
So, when I found out about the Serverless Badge, I decided to just give it a try, without even going through the course - I might know shit about Networking and CIDR Blocks but with all my experience the Assessment Test will be a piece of cake!

I started telling myself excuses: like in the driving licence test it's all about how questions are just purposely phrased in a tricky way, it is just having had the right exposure to specific services or about memorising stuff like SAM commands (while at work I use either Serverless or CDK) ( and ultimately I told myself that in the end: the more you know, the more you realize you don't know

I already mentioned in this post that sometimes it is good to listen to that little voice that tells you that you suck and that we need to listen to it not to feel bad or defeated, but to shut out laud:

And this is what I did. I acknowledged that there are some areas which I have not yet explored, not only in Containers and Networking ( as I was immediately aware watching the courses about the Solutions Architect certification) but also in the Serverless world and I was thrilled! The journey is not over!

Downloadable AWS Ramp-Up Guides offer a variety of resources to help you build your skills and knowledge of the AWS Cloud. Each guide features carefully selected digital training, classroom courses, videos, whitepapers, certifications, and more.

Can I sign in with my AWS Management Console sign-in information?
No, AWS Management Console and AWS Training and Certification are separate portals and accounts. Your sign-in information works only for the portal you created it on.

Might be.

They are useless if your purpose is just to show them off on Linkedin or if you just passed them after locking yourself up in your room for ( a pretty decent amount of ) hours in order to learn all the answers by heart without really understanding the concepts and having hands on experience.

But they are incredibly useful if to achieve those goals you learned the topics organically, by researching, understanding, and possibly having some hands-on experience ( be it on a pet project or at work ). In that case, they can really boost your motivation, gamify even a little the learning process, give you a ( sometimes painful ) feedback of your current status and definitely help you land a new job.

Starting out with that test and with loads of hours of watching videos and reading tutorials was a bit overwhelming and the Imposter Syndrome was never so strong, but getting out of the comfort zone, and trying and failing this tests, can really push you to become a better Software Engineer.
