We recommend watching the installation video below before installing this kit. It is also strongly recommended that you test fit all pieces of the kit before removing the backer from the adhesive tape.
Tip: Please make sure to properly clean the vehicle chrome using soap and water, then apply rubbing alcohol to the chrome surface to properly and completely remove anything that might keep the adhesive from sticking. We highly recommend using an adhesion promoter on the OEM chrome surface and a heat gun to heat the adhesive so that it sticks to the chrome surface more securely. You can also use an adhesive glue on the back of the pieces to help them stick better. The adhesive tape may take up to 24-48 hours to fully cure and be secure.
Hello Manuel,
Thank you for your honest review. We strictly sell new products, unless specified as an open box or customer return in our dedicated category. It seems you may not have removed the protective film from the kit. With the film on, the kit may appear scratched as the film layer is very thin. Once removed, you will see the glossy black product underneath. If you encounter any other issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Looks great but unfortunately moves around when the temperature changes. It warmed up outside, now when I open my door it catches the piece behind it on the rear door and pops it off. Happened on both sides.
I have been super happy with all the other products I have ordered from highrev and for the most part these are no different. There is one huge issue I can see with these though. The amount of expansion and contraction with heat in the sun. Quite literally these things will grow an 1/8 of an inch on a hot day in the sun. I installed them on a cooler 70 degree day and got everything lined up perfectly. Then noticed on a 95 degree day the drivers part was catching on the passenger door. Went back out later that night when it cooled down and everything was perfect again. Problem is if you sand them to make them fit when it's hot they will be to short on a cool day. Honestly have never seen plastic that expands and contracts this much in the sun
Easy install. It literally took just a few moments to place this product onto the chrome areas above the driver and passenger side(s) windows. After peeling off the protective plastic from the black chrome delete overlay, it revealed a gloss black shine that perfectly matched the gloss black pillars between the front and back windows of my Accord. Very satisfied with this product.

Basic installation instructions:1) Wipe down and clean surface area where the decal will go with a mild cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Allow to dry. Make sure the area is clean, free from dirt and debris.2) Peel off the decal from the backing paper, align/position decal and carefully apply over the window chrome delete (decal is removable and can be re-positioned).3) Once the decal is placed and aligned, press firmly and gently rub the decal while applying heat (heat gun or hair dryer) to assist with adhesion (heat allows the vinyl to stretch and mold onto the shape it is being placed on). Repeat steps for each additional decal.
Depending on the car you drive, your ability to chrome delete will vary. Different models will have different areas of chrome that can be deleted. Typically, chrome accents around your windows and on the front grill will be the best places to delete, but each model is on a case to case basis.
Ford F-150s are an extremely popular model of car and they have quite a bit of chrome that can be deleted. Along with the standard chrome window accents, F-150 also has a huge grill in front that is the majority chrome, giving plenty of room to chrome delete.
The accord is an extremely popular model of car that makes for a great chrome delete candidate. The chrome accents on accords tend to be around the windows and the front grill giving plenty of room for deletion. Especially being such a popular model of car, getting chrome deletion on an accord can really make your car stand out.
To achieve the aesthetic provided by chrome deletion, vinyl wraps are often used. This is the easiest, most cost-effective, and replaceable way to achieve this look. There are other methods to chrome delete, though these methods tend to be more permanent and more difficult. Besides vinyl, chrome delete can be accomplished through Plasti Dip or paint.
Most commonly when there is a problem with chrome deletion, people experience bad vinyl seals. This can stem from improper preparations of your vehicle or improper application, which results in your vinyl peeling. If possible, clean and press the vinyl back into place or seek professional help to address any issues.
The best way to maintain chrome deleted areas is with regular hand-cleaning. Machine car washes tend to be too violent on wraps causing damages and tearing away the vinyl from the body of the car. Regular hand-washing will keep your chrome deletion free of debris and other damaging agents that accumulate and tear at the vinyl.
Be on the look for any vinyl peeling. This indicates a breach in the protection and will serve as a weak spot for further damages and peeling. Have these issues, if they arise, taken care of quickly to extend the longevity of your wrap.
DIY chrome deletion is certainly possible. The materials and equipment needed to chrome delete are readily available for purchase. However, it takes a detailed-oriented hand to create the best results.
As far as vehicle wraps go, chrome deletion is one of the cheaper options due to the small surface area that is being worked on. Of course, cost will scale with the amount of chrome your specific car model has. The color and finish you use will also have an impact on total cost. Carbon fiber, for example, will be more expensive than gloss vinyl.
Chrome deletion is easy to achieve both DIY or through a professional service. The end product looks great and will last for years to come with proper maintenance! Stop waiting; create your new aesthetic by getting your car chrome deleted today!
