TheEndoscopy Department comprises of units at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Both units carry out a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures for outpatients and inpatients. The units treat over 20,000 patients a year. The Shropshire Bowel Cancer Screening Centre is also based in the department where screening colonoscopy is performed.
Procedures are carried out by Consultant Gastroenterologists, Consultant Surgeons and Clinical Endoscopists. Supervised training takes place on both sites. The department currently uses insourcing companies employing consultant staff from other NHS Trusts. All procedures and operators are closely monitored for quality, safety, and patient experience according to the national JAG endoscopy standards.
I have just returned from my appointment at the Bickerstaff endoscopy unit at PRH Telford. I was anxious about the appointment and arrived nervously. The staff there, from the receptionist to the Nurses, Sisters and the Doctor are fabulous! They were incredibly efficient, friendly and it was nice to have a joke or two with the staff ( especially one of the Sisters who put me at easy and made me chuckle). To the Managers and executives of this hospital; you have extremely professional, friendly and able people who work for you and the public. They are respectful to their patients and ensure their dignity. They deserve a medal in my opinion! I could not have been more impressed or thankful to those wonderful people for the professionalism they provided. Thanks to all at the Bickerstaff Unit.
Wow, thanks Mark! As one of those "executives of the hospital" it is truly humbling to hear this amazing feedback about the team at the Bickerstaff Endoscopy Unit. It is such a personal procedure, and I hope your kind words provide reassurance for others who face the same anxiety and nervousness that you did when you arrived. I have written your lovely comments onto one of our thank you cards (you can see it online at ) so that I or one of my director colleagues and share it in person with the team. Thanks again for taking the time and trouble - it means such a lot for hard working NHS staff. Adrian Osborne, Communications Director
Scarisbrick Inpatient Unit is a mental health unit made up of two Inpatient wards based at the Ormskirk District General Hospital. The unit provides 24 hour care for patients between the ages of 18 to 65 years old.
Routine endoscopy will be taking place through an extended service at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital , where additional temporary specialist facilities were installed last week, near the entrance to the Treatment Centre at the RSH. It will open on Monday.
Ms Challinor said: "Endoscopy covers a wide range of procedures and it can be a very anxious time for patients who are coming to the unit to find a cause and diagnosis for their symptoms. Our aim is to consistently improve our patients' experience."
As the Cavs navigate these uncharted waters, now without 40 percent of their starting lineup as they keep working toward a playoff spot, coach J.B. Bickerstaff and the team's coaching staff have relayed a number of messages.
It's a style that happens to perfectly match Caris LeVert's skillset. Perhaps nobody on the Cavs roster embodies the type of aggression for which the Cavs are searching better than LeVert, who has reached a new gear as of late.
LeVert has put together 20-plus-point performances in three of his last four games, including a tie for his season high 31 Monday night in Toronto. That was followed up by a 21-point game in the blowout win over the Wizards.
In a way, LeVert has lately become a centerpiece of a second unit that also includes Sam Merrill, Georges Niang, Craig Porter Jr. and Tristan Thompson. Together, they've all helped to pick up the slack left behind by the decimated starting lineup.
With Garland and Mobley sidelined, the Cavs know they will often have to lean on Mitchell, especially with the game on the line. They'll need Max Strus to continue to make a massive impact on the starting lineup. They'll need Jarrett Allen to hold down the fort in the paint.
The second unit, meanwhile, was thrust into a position of handling a much larger share of the workload. Over the last season and a half, the Cavs have had plenty of games in which the starting lineup accounted for a much-too-large percentage of the team's total production. That won't be able to be the case anymore, at least not for the next several weeks.

I have learned that a successful teacher must constantly learn, and that learning process often comes from reactions to insights that students present. I cultivate a classroom atmosphere in which students are not only encouraged to share their ideas but also reassured that their ideas will be respected in the classroom. I also feel that the classroom includes interaction outside of the classroom in the settings of office visits, on-site library research, and on-site service learning. My motivating students to understand, recognize, and employ a critical thought process is central to my teaching of writing and all other courses.
I am committed to diversity and inclusion in my classes. I welcome students from underrepresented groups and have seen great contributions in my classes from international students, first generation students, students of color, and students who sometimes lack the confidence to participate right away. These students and all students are welcomed and respected in my classes. I encourage all of my students to contribute to discussions and follow up with comments to me by e-mail if they wish. Their contributions motivate me to reflect on my own pedagogy and also to innovate in order to create a challenging and useful classroom community.
PITTSBURGH, PA (January 15, 2019) The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police is set to establish a new investigations unit this year focusing on domestic violence cases, using $500,000 in funding from the Nina Baldwin Fisher Foundation.
Legislation accepting the funding is being introduced to Pittsburgh City Council today. It would support creation of a Domestic Violence (DV) unit in the police bureau consisting of one DV Sergeant (new position), one DV Detective (existing position), one DV Detective Specialist (new position), and one civilian clerical specialist (new position).
Pittsburgh Police have comprehensive policies and procedures for all officers to use when responding to DV incidents. However the police bureau and the DV victims it serves would benefit greatly from the addition of more DV specialists as well as a new database for the tracking of DV crimes.

The 17th Sustainment Brigade (17 Sust Brigade) currently commands the Australian Army's deployable operational level logistics units. Raised on 20 May 2006, the brigade was formerly known as the Logistic Support Force (LSF), and is made up of varied logistic corps and trades. It encompasses both reserve and full-time units, geographically dispersed throughout Australia. Headquartered in Sydney its primary deployable command element is the Force Sustainment Group. The units of the brigade are responsible for providing third line or 'general' support within an area of operations.[2] The brigade was designated the 17th Combat Service Support Brigade until 1 August 2019, when it was renamed the 17th Sustainment Brigade.[3] The brigade traces its origins back to the 1st Australian Logistic Support Group formed during the Vietnam War.[3]
On 2 October 2018, the 1st Military Police Battalion was transferred from 17th Brigade to the 6th Brigade so it is aligned with other theatre-level combat support capabilities that are already under the command of 6th Brigade.[5]
The 1st Psychology Unit was removed from the brigade's order of battle on 19 November 2021, when it was disbanded as part of a restructuring of the Army's health units.[6] In February 2022, four new health battalions were formed following the disbandment of 1st Close Health Battalion, 2nd General Health Battalion and 3rd Health Support Battalion as part of the restructure. The new battalions formed that month were: 1st Health Battalion on 3 February, 2nd Health Battalion on 15 February, 3rd Health Battalion on 22 February and 4th Health Battalion on 17 February.[7][8] On 3 March 2023, the four new battalions were transferred to the newly formed 2nd Health Brigade.[9]
