Dear all!

According to the new role of long term visa in Cambodia, to renew your visa we need a work permit or it will not be renewed, if you don’t have a work permit…you must have a letter from your company for your employment then we can renew for six-month and one-year business visas for you.

             -  For those who are living in Cambodia without business or work, you can have a retirement visa(ER) no paper needed if you are                           above 55ys, $190 for 6 months’ visa, $315

                           -   For those who just got in to Cambodia and holding 1 month EI visa never been extend it for long term EI visa (3 months, 6months or 1 year) We can help you to change it to ES visa (student Visa) it will cost you $10 extra and you can extend it again for 6 months or 1 year ES visa without any paper and you get the same condition as EB visa (multiple entry for 6 months and 1 year).

For more info please come to Visit us @ Ganesha Family Guesthouse bar & restaurant or call 092 13 55 70

Thanks

Pheara

I'm 51. This past August, we secured my one-year retirement visa (ER). We did it through Capitol Bus Station, at the rate of $295 USD. (This is the same price I paid for my Business visa extension of stays.) It took about ten days to complete and get my passport back. During my time on a Business visa, it usually took about a 4 day turn around.

I believe, if renewing a business visa, no work permit is required, if extending for 1-month or 3-month stays.

Really curious to know whether someone tried to do a new business visa AFTER this new "regulation" started (1st of Sept, according to this article) WITHOUT a work permit..

So in August, it was still "business as usual"

No idea. But, I did as Immigration told me to do, in order to get my visa changed from an EB to an ER. I don't go by newspaper reporting. We all know how "accurate" they are.

4 years on an """""ordinary - Business  -  Normal """""  visa.  Take your choice of names as is same visa, different name in different years.
Renewed for one year and changed it to  """"Retirement Visa"""".   ""ER"" visa after September 1,  and received it back as a  """"Retirement - ER  Visa"""".    No added paper work, questions, proof ask for.
Cost $295 U.S. same as in the past.     Took 5 working days.
Some people/business offering to facilitate the process of renewing/changing your visa seem to be ill informed and/or trying to capitalize on the confusion (perhaps spread by themselves) about the change in the law to charge you  extra dollars thereby increasing their profit.
This, to me while not exactly illegal is certainly unethical and morally reprehensible..

Anyone know what the rules are for retirees who also have a business in Cambodia?  Are retirees allowed to work or own a business?

Read the previous posting by Paul, the one with the B2B-Cambodia article, which answers your question.
