Job Title: SQL BI developer

Location: Harrisburg, PA

Duration: 12 Months

 

Job Description:

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications, including associated hardware, endpoint, and databases, including the coordination with other IT groups as required.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) on moderately complex projects which are cross functional with county, vendors, and external partners.
• Develop, analyze, and create tests and develop specifications and requirements in collaboration with customers, developers, and vendors.
• Collaborates on and assists in the planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
• Owns organizational and platform knowledge in one or more application products to successfully support enterprise application customers.
• Resolves complex issues that may involve multiple systems, while understanding potential business and information technology risks for the customer.
• Leverages knowledge of relational databases and spreadsheets to extract and analyze data to identify business problems, trends, opportunities for process improvement, and project goals.
• Meet and Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements.
• Responsible for identification, documentation, and resolution of risks, defects, and issues.
• Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements.
• Ensures the stability and reliability of data access and data quality across the organization via ongoing database support and maintenance.
• Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor systems health, gather system statistics, and troubleshoot reported issues, errors, and alarms.
• Communicates professionally with team members, customers, partners, vendors, and management,
• Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Ensures compliance with data retention policies for database data, documents, and images with applicable retention laws and regulations.
• Attends meetings, training, and seminars, as necessary.
• Liaises with vendors for product information, efficient implementation of systems, and resolution of issues
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
• Participates in IT department on-call rotation

• Must be able to speak and understand the English language in an understandable manner to carry out essential functions of job.
• Must possess strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must possess ability to function independently, be proactive, have flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with clients, coworkers, and others.
• Possess knowledge in a combination of technical areas such as requirements analysis, relational databases, programming concepts, SQL query languages, and data analysis using spreadsheets and BI tools.  Strong skillset in ASP.Net MVC, Structured Query Language (SQL), JQuery, JAVAScript, knowledge of cloud analytics platforms
• Must possess ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure time-sensitive environment.
