Job Title: AWS DevOps Engineer

Location: Arlington, VA

Duration: 6 Months+

 

Description:

The AWS DevOps Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting client’s cloud infrastructure.

 

 

Responsibilities:

• Research, Build and Develop AWS Cloud solutions using DevOps best practices for optimizing, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Migrate on premise VMWare workloads to AWS Cloud infrastructure using industry best principles/methodologies of migration and Server Migration Service.
• Develop Lambda functions using python scripting for automating S3, EC2 AMI, snapshots, and multiple AWS resources.
• Provide technical services on DevOps best practices for CI/CD, configuration management, infrastructure automation and containerization management
• Develop AWS CloudFormation templates using JSON scripting for infrastructure automation and disaster recovery strategies
• Build and configure GitLab runners for continuous deployment of application code base, configure Shared runners for different projects and establish release cycles for multi project code pipelines.
• Maintain the source code, version control in GitLab and handle different branching, merging, and tagging strategies for web applications.
• Develop bash/shell scripts for release management and deploy applications source code on multiple environments.
• Document any technical workflows of client’s architectural designs, implementation, system setup and analysis for further reference across the teams.
• Provide expertise in problem solving skills, root cause analysis, troubleshoot any major outbreaks on legacy systems, and Cloud infrastructure leveraging complex
• Linux commands to fetch solutions.
• Lead IT and web teams through technical seminars, presentations, and training sessions on AWS Cloud infrastructure.

 

Qualifications:

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience.
• Solid Linux Administration Skills
• Strong expertise on AWS resources like VPC EC2, S3, IAM, EBS, Security Group, Auto Scaling, ELBS, AWS Backup, Systems Manager, Server Migration Service, RDS, etc.
• Set up and built AWS infrastructure in CloudFormation using JSON templates.
• Implemented cluster services using Docker and Kubernetes to manage local deployments by building a self-hosted Kubernetes cluster using Terraform and Chef.
• Experience developing Python and Bash scripts for infrastructure automation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadline and prioritize effectively, while delivering high quality work.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to perform other duties as needed.
