Regarding axisymmetric formulation

Dear All

I was implementing axisymmetric form of Allen-Cahn phase field equation and got a doubt which I request you to clarify.

To my understanding, we need to include the factors fm[] and cm[] while calculating the flux vectors at faces and during the divergence operation of any equation.

This part is OK to me.

We also need to include these factors while calculating the physical properties at faces and cell centers.

Will not these factors change the physical properties seen by the solver?

For example, let's say the domain size is 0.01 m along the radial (y) coordinate. The physical properties at faces like specific volume, viscosity, thermal diffusivity will include the y coordinate of any face which varies from 0 to 0.01.

So the physical properties get modified!

How we can compare the axisymmetric form results to 2D or 3D ones?

Someone please clarify.
