Hi everyone,

Here is a short reflection on sandboxes:

The sandbox project is a masterpiece for the development of individual
configurations. I will not (maybe I should?) list here all the benefits of such
infrastructure.

I think however that, given the growing number of users, there might be elements
that could be done differently: e.g. isolate sandboxes for each user; facilitate
the reuse of code, maybe in the form of clone/ pull requests; force the
sanitization of bug reports; or other elements that would benefit the community.

Is anyone willing to join me to reflect on this issue and/or implement a
solution? I can also gather your suggestions by email and formulate a possible
evolution. If a small number of people is interested, we can also organize an
online meeting. I already mentioned this to Stephane and I think he agrees on
some of the points mentioned above.

Looking forward to your suggestions.
Bruno

Never had a sandbox, but I like browsing n' searching those of others, I perceive them as a 'code library', YMMV.

Anyhow, if you're thinking about purging or deleting them, I'm writing these words to at least
make sure the sources remain in some repo where they can be browsed and searched in. They're mighty handy this way.

Obviously, in such a 'laissez-faire' approach there's no need for de-duplication or record linkage, which becomes
attractive as one considers keeping this code running and relevant.

Dear all

I am also of the same opinion....

Please don't remove the Sandboxes...

I have learned Basilisk from others works!

Based on these, I have my implementations on solidification melting with three phases, Phase field, Enthalpy porosity method, Reference map technique,  3D EHD, Viscoelasticity, incompressible MHD, Ferrofluid flow etc

If you ask where are my codes? Right now in my hard disks...

I want to upload these on my Sandbox but need some help/tutorial on how to systematically do this...

Please note that not everyone has the luxury of interacting directly with Prof. Zaleski, Prof. Popinet, Prof. Lopez and others...

So please keep the sandboxes if possible.

Thank you.

Regards
