I’m new to Basilisk and doing a 2D dambreak simulation with a periodic moving rectangular structure. I would like to use VOF to model the two‑phase (water/air) flow, and a moving structure to represent a rigid body that oscillates/periodically moves.
I first tried something similar to the tangaroa.c style but when the dam breaks and impacts the structure, I observe severe seepage / water passing through the structure region.
I then tried some IBM in the sandbox, but likewise I see water penetrating the structure. When I try a moving EB approach, the moving EB cuts off the water phase (i.e., physically seems to chop the VOF water away). But the EB method works well if the structure is still.
So I’d like to ask that:
Is there an example in Basilisk that demonstrates VOF two‑phase flow + a moving rigid body (embedded boundary or IB) + strict impermeable at the body surface, especially under a strong impact / moving structure scenario? Thanks a lot!
Best Regards,
