to Basics of Biblical Greek Vocab for Anki
Hi Steve,

I found out your Anki conversion of the BBG vocab from Dr. Mounce's
website. I have been using it in the last few days, and it is great.
This is the best Greek flashcard program I have used so far. I wonder
if you would consider converting the Hebrew vocab from Flashworks as
well.

By the way, I found one typo in the Greek word for "Isaiah" where "s"
is missing (I am refering to Koine Greek Vocab made for Mounce's
Basics of Biblical Greek that I downloaded from the Anki shared deck).

Thanks a lot for your work.

Thanks for the heads up. I've fixed it in my master deck. However, it
will take time for that to flow through to the web.

I share your sentiments about Anki.

In relation to Flashwork's Hebrew database, I'll have a look. However,
it may have a few technical hurdles that make it too much trouble.
Fortunately, with Mounce's database, he kindly gave me access to his
data in a raw form which made the conversion very easy.

In regard to Hebrew, I'm currently converting Allen Ross's Hebrew
vocab to Anki. In this case, I have also got access to audio files for
each vocab word so it's a very nice conversion. However, I'm entering
it manually, as I go through his grammar at college, so it will take
me around a year to complete the database.

Thanks for the encouraging word,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Interested to hear you are using Ross. I am working on Hebrew myself
rather than at college. I have a friend at church who lectures hebrew
and uses Ross as the set text so on his recommendation I am using it
along with some others for variety including Pratico and Van Pelt
text.

Is your Hebrew list shared ? If so how would I be able to acces
it ?

I am not sure if you have come across the following site. Another
friend from church who is in first year at seminary (same college as
the lecturer friend) is doing Hebrew and he pointed me to the
following web site that one of the other students found that is based
around the Ross text. It's worth checking out and includes lectures
based around Ross material, as well as audio and other useful
supplementary resources:
http://www.animatedhebrew.com/

Thanks for your work on the BBG list.

Steve,

That will be great. Since you have good connection with Dr. Mounce, I
was wondering if you will be able to get a raw copy of the Hebrew
database as well. Otherwise, I will probably do as you are doing,
create the cards myself as I learn new words. The only problem is that
there is likely to be some errors, unlike the established database
that has been checked thoroughly.

Thanks,
John

John,

If you are careful, you shouldn't have too many problems if you do it
manually. Mounce's database isn't perfect.
I have come across a few errors so don't be too hard on yourself.

Did you ever finish creating the Anki deck with audio for Ross' Hebrew text? If so I'd love to get my hands on it. I'm going through that text now in class.

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, I never finished it.
