Hello there,

Illumnia Base Space is giving me this error that my FASTQ files have inconsistent header information:

This file contains inconsistent header information. We expected all cluster headers to match '@A00815:457:HJLM7DRX2:1:2101:1796:1031 1:N:0:GGAGCTAC+ATAGAGAG' but we encountered the header '@A00815:457:HJLM7DRX2:2:2101:2302:1031 1:N:0:GGAGCTAC+ATAGAGAG' at cluster 1.

Are there any tools I can use to fix this header issue?

It looks like your fastq files are coming from different lanes of the NovaSeq flow cell and have been concatenated. The inconsistent lane # is the issue (item 4, colon-delimited). It's 1 in the first record and 2 in the second one called out in the error message.

This is expected/intended, the UI expects lane-split FASTQs. You'll need to upload those using the CLI, it doesn't do the same check. Here's a tutorial for just such a task:

Cheers,
Nick
