Hey all,

I have a question regarding the availability of sha256sums for fastg.gz files generated in BaseSpace Sequence hub using the "Generate FASTQ" application.

Basically, I created a synchronisation service within our own infrastructure here at to download our fastq.gz files and upload these into our own S3 buckets.

My question is: how can I verify downloaded file integrity?
Is it possible to get the pre-download sha256sum for the files in BaseSpace Sequence Hub via the BaseSpace CLI?
Or is there another way to verify integrity when downloading via the BaseSpace CLI?

Thanks for your help,
Darren

Hi Darren,

We also using our own script to backup data from basespace into our storage, and I have the some doubt. I guess that maybe when we download runs/projects/fastq´s through bs cli it would throw an error if a file is not transfered completely, but I am not sure about this. I think that a simple addition of a md5sum (or equivalent) application on basespace (don´t know how to do this) would solve the issue.

Regards,

Jose
