Here is what actually works: showing up, consistently, to a structured program that tells you exactly what to do and adds a little more weight each week. That is it. The rest is maybe five percent.

WHAT BASELINE IS

Baseline is a structured training app for people who are done guessing. Pick a program or build your own, train for six weeks, log the result, and the app tells you what to do next time. No spreadsheets. No RPE sliders. No guesswork.

HOW IT WORKS

Every program runs as a six-week block. Week 1 is your baseline week — you work up to a hard set at the prescribed rep target and log the weight. That number becomes your reference point for everything that follows. Weeks 2 through 6 are progressive. The app calculates targets based on what you actually lifted, not what you hoped you lifted, and advances them week on week.

Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe. Three lifts, three days, add weight every session.

StrongLifts 5x5 by Mehdi Hadim. More sets than Starting Strength, same simplicity.

Reddit PPL by Metallicadpa. Six days, push, pull, legs, repeat. One big lift per session.

CBum Classic Bro Split by Chris Bumstead. One muscle group a day, five days, rolling rotation.

Blood and Guts by Dorian Yates. One all-out set per exercise. Warm up, then give everything. Brutal.

Lyle McDonald's Generic Bulking Routine. Heavy then light, four days. Built for people eating to grow.

Baby Got Back. Every movement pattern across four days — push, pull, squat, hinge.

Bodyweight Foundation by Baseline. No gym required. Week 1 sets your numbers, the app takes over.

BUILD YOUR OWN

The custom block builder asks about your training focus, frequency, and equipment, then builds a six-week block around your answers. Or select every exercise yourself. Exercises can be swapped at any point — the app re-runs the selection and replaces what you do not want. The rest stays intact.

FORM COACHING

Each exercise includes slow, illustrative coaching with the cues that matter. A clean visual reference you can check mid-session.

NOTIFICATIONS

One notification per training day, matched to your schedule. Three-day program, three messages a week. The notification tells you which week and day you are on. Nothing more.

PRICING

The first workout and the first full week of training are free. After that, Baseline is available by subscription, priced below the main competitors.
