As the date for committing to BO 2008 fast approaches, I must indicate I will not be able to join in the BO 2008 to the East Coast. This fall, we'll have two kids at the University of Minnesota and a review by the Dankbar Finance Committee reveals that it would be fiscally prudent to stay home in 2008. I'll admit this was a hard decision. I even went as far as playing the PowerBall a couple of weekends ago. I did win $7, but that's not enough to make up the difference!

Like Jim, I will have to follow the exploits / adventures of the travelers via the web site. I'll look forward to future BOs with a hopeful eye towards joining in the future West Coast tour.

As a follow-up from BO 2007, it turns out 2008 is the last year for Dodgertown in Vero Beach. See the NPR story at .. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=88252550, "Baseball's Dodgers Say So Long to Dodgertown"..

Have a great trip -- the Kommisar has worked his magic in setting up a stellar itinerary.

Yes, it is a sad, sad day. Now two BO stalwarts will be prominently
absent from this year's festivities. Next year will be a reunion of
sorts!
