BOers is the same spelling as the Boers in the South African Boer War.

Hello fellow BOers,

I am actually quite touched with the effort you all have put into saving this year's BO. Some might say verklempt.

Anyway, I do appreciate the effort to get out to Des Moines. And while I will most likely buy tickets to see the Iowa Cubs on Saturday I cannot completely guarantee that we'll be able to make it to the game. The AAU Tournament schedule is still not available and depending on the tournament, schedule could depend on record in which case I wouldn't know until the very last minute.

I wanted to let you all know this before traveling the great distance to get there and then discover that Meg and I will be unavailable come game time. I know there are lots of teams that may be closer and easier to get to. Meg and I would certainly understand if you didn't make it all the way out.

I leave it completely up to you. Just wanted to serve you up with all the information I have at the moment.

A proposal for BO09:

Friday
1:20 p.m. at Wrigley (Cubs v Twins) [price: unknown]

5:45 p.m. at Steinmetz H.S. (Chopin Park v Oriole Park Orioles)--this is Taylor's team and, since I'm the coach, we both kinda have to be there

sleep at Tonachels in Chicago

Saturday
drive 333 miles to Des Moines, Iowa, secure camp site, and meet up with the Kommish and Megan

7:05 p.m. at Principal Park in Des Moines (Iowa Cubs v. Omaha Royals) [price: $7-12/ticket]

Sunday
drive to about 275 miles to Joliet, Illinois

2:05 p.m. at Silver Cross Field in Joliet (Joliet Jackhammers v. Winnipeg Goldeyes) [$10/ticket]

drive about 60 miles to Tonachels to sleep

I know this isn't ideal in terms of two long drives, but that's part of BO tradition, too.

Who's in? or Who's got another itinerary?  We need to decide in the next few days, so out-of-towners can book flights and tickets (at least for Wrigley) can be purchased.
