I'll make the pitch for any mid-Atlantic swing. It's looking like I (or any of my clan)will be unable to join the BO this year, and I selfishly don't want to miss the Northwestern trip. Not that I want to miss the mid-Atlantic trip either, but it's the lesser of two evils.

I'm having a combination of issues: Work, for one, just doesn't seem inclined to give me unlimited time off! And I've got this "mandatory" family Alaskan cruise I have to take during the first two weeks of August. (I know, it's a poor excuse for missing the BO and you all feel so terrible for me.....)

Please keep me in the email loop so I can keep in touch with plans and progress and live the BO vicariously through you all.

It is truly a sad day in BO land. The news that Jim will be unable to
make this year's BO hit me like an Ortiz bat on a 3-2 2 out bottom of
the ninth low and inside fastball jacked into the right field bullpen
at Fenway. I will miss his wry wit, his sly smile, the way he kinda
leans forward and grunts when he passes gas, and most of all the
enthusiasm with which he joins in with the wave at the ballparks.

But let us not wallow in the pool of despair. Let us drink from the
fountain of hope and look to the coming BO with anticipation. For this
is only temporary, Jim will return next year. And this year we have a
most splendid BO planned. So let us rejoice in the fun that is BO
knowing that Jim is will be with us in spirit.

Jeff - your words ring so true.  Jim, you will be sorely missed.

To recognize his BO dedication, maybe we could take a moment this year to pass gas in unison on his behalf.

Give me a 30 second heads up before you Haynes start your salute. But, I, too will miss our Camp Guide and RV expert. And, let's not forget that wily Mad-Libber, Jen, either.

Looking forward to your regal return when the BO swings back west. (And sorry to hear about that job that requires you to show up to work. You must not work for IBM.)
