base2 1.0.2 vs 2.0

I am starting a project that could use base2 "extends" functionality.  As I'm experimenting, I'm finding that using "eval(base2.namespace)" is not working in Chrome.  There appear to be workarounds that assume base2.exec which is not present in 1.0.2.

Is 1.0.2 still considered the latest release?  That is the latest version posted on google code.  I cannot find 1.1 or 2.0 in the SVN repo, tagged, branched or otherwise.  Is this work happening somewhere else?
