In July, an old sod house was discovered eroding out of the bluff at Walakpa (Monument). UIC Science, with help from the NSB, UMIAQ and many volunteers, salvaged as much as possible before freeze-up. It turned out to be more than just a house! Come and learn what we found so far!
Then, celebrate International Archaeology Day with a visit to the archaeology lab at the BARC! See some of the Walakpa artifacts, and maybe a surprise as well.
