Our work focuses on the community of organisms that live within the sea ice near Barrow. We are interested in ice algae and their contribution to the marine organisms underneath the ice and along the bottom as a food source. This presentation will describe techniques we use to capture ice algae and the animals that eat it. If you've ever wondered what it looks like under the ice we will show you some under ice videos and live algae and the small critters that eat them.
