First of all, we would like to send our deep appreciation for your continuous effort and attention to make our society more inclusive and to advance the rights of persons with disabilities.

We are glad to invite you again in 2015 to the ‘Global Challenge of Youth with Disabilities’ which began with an aim of enabling young professionals with disabilities to build their capacity to become internationals leaders.

Last year, in 2014, in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary, Korean Society for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (KSRPD) and Shinhan Financial Group has successfully held the TED-style conference with ten international participants who have experiences of participating in this program over the last years.

In response to this positive feedback, this year again, a ‘Seminar on Disability and International Development’ and a ‘Conference of Youth with Disabilities’ are scheduled within the entire program from July 13 to 25 for 13 days 12 nights with the theme, ‘Creating the World Together’.

Brief information is as below.

A. Description of the Korea Team: Creating the World Together

• Period: 13 days 12 nights, July 13(Mon)~ 25(Sat), 2015
• Theme: Creating the World Together
• Participants:

-  10 young professionals with disabilities from 10 countries in the Asia Pacific region
-   5 Korean youths with disabilities or without disabilities, 2 coordinators

• Program includes,

- Orientation
- Visit KSRPD
- Seminar at the Korean National Assembly on Disability and International Development
- Conference of Youth with Disabilities on Life with a disability and vision
- Cultural Exchange

 
B. Information for the applicants   

• Requirements:

- Youths with disabilities in in the Asia Pacific region (Age: 18~34)
- Disability-related field work experience
- Development-related work experience
- To be able to commit oneself to a full-time program 2 weeks away from home
- Competent in English (To be able to make a presentation in English)

• Cost: All expenses associated with the participation in the program, including round-trip air ticket, hotel accommodation, meals and local transportation services will be borne by KSRPD

• Required Document for Submission

- Application Form (Filled out) & Two references
- Obligatorily one, optionally two Manuscripts written according to the theme chosen
- Certificates (Employment, Student Status): Provide English translation as well as the original copy


You may find more detailed information in the official documents attached. For those who are interested in participating in our Program, send us the application with the manuscripts for the presentation which you will have along with other required documents by April 3, 2015.
