You can change how your start page and other Opera pages appear by applying wallpapers. There are a few preloaded wallpapers in Opera, which you can find in Settings > Wallpapers. You can also access wallpapers from the Easy Setup panel.
In the Easy setup panel, click on a wallpaper to change the look of your browser. If you want to find more wallpapers, click the Get more wallpapers button to go to the wallpapers section of addons.opera.com/. From there, you can browse and install wallpapers created by the Opera community.
Extensions which you add to your Opera browser can be found on the extensions page. There, you can turn extensions on or off and adjust their settings. You can open your extensions page by clicking on the Extensions icon (cube icon) towards the bottom of your sidebar. Alternatively, you can get to the extensions page through the main menu:
Here you have a few more options than in the Easy setup menu. You can choose to hide the search bar on your start page, as well as adjust the Speed Dial animations and number of columns. You can also choose to receive suggested Speed Dials (based on your browsing activity) and promoted Speed Dials (websites promoted by Opera).
Turbo Download Manager (3rd edition) is a multi-threading download manager with a built-in tool to grab video, audio, and image sources from web pages using the internal HTML spider. Similar to IDM (Internet Download Manager), and JDownloader, this extension has a built-in tool to increase the downloading speed by fetching multiple segments of the file simultaneously. This downloader is written purely in JavaScript (there are no external dependencies).
Features:
1. Resuming broken downloads and error recovery: When the downloading process is interrupted (e.g. lost connections, computer shutdowns, or unexpected power outages), you don't need to start from the beginning.
2. Pausing active jobs: To temporarily reduce network traffic when it is needed
3. Dynamic segmentation and speed acceleration: Splits files into several sections and downloads them simultaneously in an internal IndexedDB database, allowing you to use any type of connection at the maximum available speed.
4. Enhanced audio/video files support: Has internal HTML spider module to detect media (video, audio) and image sources
5. Built-in M3U8 parser and Live Stream downloader (HLS) with AES-128 decryption support.
This download manager can be used to accelerate your downloading speed or to improve download stability on low-quality networks. The extension is integrated into your browser download manager as much as possible.
I've downloaded trial version of ESET Smart Security Premium and I'm thinking about buying the license, but I have a problem with password manager extension, it cannot be installed on Opera browser, it keeps showing error, though it says that Opera 15+ is supported. I tried installing it through "install Chrome extensions", but the add-on doesn't register the Password Manager program as if it hasn't been installed on my pc. The version of Opera that I'm using is 60.0.3255.84. Is there any way to fix this?
All of the listed features work and I have installed password manager and the extensions for Chrome and Mozilla (just to check whether it would work with different browser) and it only doesn't function in Opera. I have no idea why.
I couldn't find any info of this but it seems logically to me. I believe the PM is actually a third party product and is installed as such during the paid Eset installation phase. For trial versions, it is probably installed when a valid license key is entered.
Perhaps it is because it's trial version, but that would mean that the trial version is not working only on Opera. I've installed PM and the extensions for Chrome and Mozilla and it works just fine, Opera is the only one having problems with it, ESET can't install the extension. Maybe it has something to do with the browser itself.
Since Opera Version 78.0.4066.0 the icon of the Bitwarden 1.49.0 extension disappeared from the Sidebar.
When disabling and re-enabling the extension the icon appears for 1 Sec. and disappears again.
Tested on three different devices.
Yes, this is true. The developers of the Opera browser have made a change in how it handles extensions. Previously, it was possible to write an extension that would put icons on both the Menu bar and the Sidebar. The change to opera defines two different types of extension, one for the Menu bar, and one for the Sidebar. The Bitwarden extension that Opera is currently using only shows icons on the Menu bar. There is no extension for the sidebar. I hope someone is working on a sidebar extension for Opera.
Hi @bolbers and @defo2, thank you for your reports. I had a quick look into this during my lunch break earlier today. I can confirm that the extension can be installed and loaded, but the sidebar extension disappears after a short time.
I read in the Opera forums that the decision to have two separate extensions, one for the menu bar and one for the sidebar, is one that the Opera team made on purpose. It does not appear to be a bug. Although their implementation of it was really poor. Bitwarden is not the only extension that no longer works on the sidebar. All of the extensions that used to work on both bars now disappear from the sidebar. Another example would be Translator. Only the extensions that were written exclusively for the sidebar still work there. An example would be Side Calculator. People who have complained to Opera are apparently told that it is up to the extension writers to develop sidebar only extensions. I have gotten around this problem temporarily by installing an old version of Opera. My problem now is fending off their automatic updates.
I have a simple solution that so far has worked perfectly. I uninstalled Opera 78.0.4093.147 and downloaded and installed version 77.0.4054.277 from the Opera website . This is the last version of Opera in which the sidebar worked properly. I did a little bit of surgery on the installation to keep Opera from auto-updating, and so far it is hanging in there. I check the Opera website periodically to see if they have an update. So far - nothing. .
@defo2 Yeah it did not appear for me as well. So i thought i can uninstall it. clicked the Cross in the extensions menu and the confimation for uninstall popped on screen. While confimation showed i noticed the bitwarden icon appeared on the ?menuebar? right to the adressbar. i right clicked the icon an pinned it to the bar. Now i was able to fully use it (not in the sidebar).
The Bitwarden extension has always worked on the Opera menu bar, and up until the release of Opera version 78 it also worked on the sidebar. The sidebar greatly improves the use of Bitwarden, It resizes the main window and allows the Bitwarden window to be instantly pinned beside it. The sidebar is the main reason that I use Opera. According to the people on the Opera forums, in order to have an extension work on the sidebar, the extension has to be written specifically for the sidebar. All of the sidebar-only extensions in the Opera extension store, such as Side Calculator, work correctly with the latest Opera releases. I think that if the Opera team is not going change this, the Bitwarden team needs to develop a sidebar-only extension for Opera.
I am pleased to report that the Bitwarden extension now appears to work on the Opera sidebar in the beta (79) and developers (80) versions of Opera. As far as I can tell, the sidebar extension still does not work in the released version of Opera (78). Thanks to whoever fixed it.
Opera is not one of our fully supported browsers so although you can install 1Password from the Chrome Webstore you won't be able to use the integration features such as Touch ID. That being said, points 2 and 3 should work. Can you try the steps below and let me know if it improves things:
Can you confirm if your browser and the 1Password extension are fully up to date? Are you experiencing trouble filling on all websites, or a specific one? If there's a specific site, can you provide us with website's URL?
Those are the versions. I believe I installed opera and 1password a few days ago. New to Opera, and mostly loving it other than 1password issue, and I posted a couple feature requests like being able to split tabs like you would split windows on a monitor, and the ability to set On Startup pages by workspace instead of only on the main workspace.
I have just taken a look over the discussion so far and I notice a few issues have been discussed. Can you specify the exact issue you are having with 1Password and Opera One so I can make sure I provide accurate guidance?
Same 3 items from description of this ticket. 1Password installs and then I have to enter password every time i open opera even if the 1Password app is already unlocked on my mac. Once unlocked it will try to suggest but clicking does nothing. And if i click the extension button i get a generic list of passwords not suggestions for the site i am on. I have had to use the 1 password app to copy paste into opera which is enough to push me back to safari. I have to use 1 password for work and have no option to use a different password manager. Otherwise i love opera!
The 1 password app is working better with your suggestions. It works perfectly in most browsers edge, chrome, safari, firefox it is kind of disappointing that Opera which has such great features blocks the connection to the 1 password app that allows it to integrate with the unlock features on the mac such as unlock with fingerprint and watch. Unfortunately entering passwords is a huge part of using the internet these days and 1password has become a popular solution for business where the users have no choice to change. Thank you all for your quick response, I hope a feature request for proper 1 password integration can make it into the queue to provide a better user experience for an app that is used by over 100k corp clients .
