Chromebook coding

Hi,

I bought two Arduino robots from you. My kids have built their robots and we're moving to the coding phase. When I enter the code to go to chrome://flags it won't let us in. I can access the coding site, though. Still, when I build a code, it's not uploading to the robot when it's connected via a USB. It says to enter the port above, but it's not giving me a port. It *is* giving me a green checkmark, though. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Kimberly!

Thanks for reaching out. I'm happy to help.  Regarding the Chrome flags, the newer Chromebooks don't require that so you could probably skip it. Sorry for the confusion.

Also, if you're still having issues, some things to check:

1) Make sure that the USB cable is plugged in all the way, both on the robot and on the Chromebook.  The little red light on the controller board should be on. 

2) Make sure that you select the "noggin" setting on the drop down on the website. 

If issues continue, can you send me a picture or screenshot of what it looks like when you are trying to upload? I'm out and about today, but we can also schedule a zoom session to debug it together tomorrow or later this week.
