Clint Brown
--------------------
Clint Brown is no stranger to the Barleycorn stage having been a fairly regular contestant at the club's annual songwriting competition . He'll be emerging from hibernation in the KZN bushveld this coming Monday and offering his unique brand of original baby -boomer folk rock , since there's not too much to do in the bush besides composing country ditty's and avoiding tick bite fever...

Brig Stanford
--------------------
From childhood, Brig could recite all of the lyrics to her mother's favourite musicians. What started as admiration evolved into writing poems that would inevitably become songs. Since then, Brig has been in several prominent bands in the Cape Town music scene and released music produced by the late great Andy Lund and Chris Tait. Brig is also the co-founder of Glastonfurry, an all-day music festival in aid of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA. Glastonfurry is about to happen for the fourth time and is held at the iconic Armchair Theatre, bringing homes to furry friends and great music to all.
Vocally, Brig offers a beautiful contradiction. Raw power softened by sultry undertones lends itself perfectly to the themes she explores in her music. Explorations of feminism within a patriarchal society, friendships and the many colours and heartaches that come with romantic love. Whether it’s the falling in and out of love, the almost maybes, the casual affairs, the so-deep-in-you-cant-see-out-of-it, the toxic lovers, the addictive lovers, Brig leaves no stone unturned. More often than not, her lyrics go deeper than the typecasts and speak of intricacies that are honest and relatable.
“I have had a lot of heartache in my life, and writing songs not only helps me to psychoanalyse myself, but provides a vehicle for my romantic nature. It means being able to take a shitty situation or hard lesson and turn it into something beautiful. At heart, I am an artist, and all I really want to do is use my given talent to put something beautiful and meaningful back into the world. If just one person is inspired by that, I win."
