We are very excited to present another Feature Show, coming next week to Barleycorn! Featuring: Avi Ramgoolam, Larry Strelitz, and headline and feature act Gin Wizard bringing their powerful vocals, amazing guitar skills, astounding rhythms, and a huge dose of improvisation to our stage. A not-to-be-missed show! Join us for some amazing original, local music!

I grew up on the music of the folk-rock legends of the time, taught myself how to play the guitar, and did covers of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, James Taylor, The Eagles, and the like. Until very recently my audience was made up of my family, and friends.
During Covid, with time on my hands, I decided to improve my craft and, with new found inspiration, wrote and published my first original, Over African Skies, at the age of 70. I followed up with another, Mayth (short for May the Eighth) a while later. I am continuing to work on new material, having fun, experiencing fulfilment, and feeling grateful.

Larry Strelitz

Larry Strelitz recently settled in Cape Town, having spent the last 35 years at Rhodes University as a Professor of Journalism and Media Studies. While in Makhanda/Grahastown, Larry played local venues, both solo and in bands, including the National Arts Festival. He last played at Barleycorn in the 1990s.

GIN WIZARD Acoustic 4 piece Ensemble lands a little softer on the ears as they swap out the electric for acoustic guitar and the drums for Cajon. Richard Pryor's mission to get back to his Blues Roots are well on track with this intimate Show.
They will be taking you on a Musical Journey performing some Re-arranged Blues Standards, Some Classic Covers & even some Originals. The repertoire will include songs From BB King, Tina Turner, Shamekia Copeland, Etta James, Beth Hart, Led Zeppelin, Creedence & more.
GIN WIZARD comes complete Powerful Vocals, Amazing Guitar skills, Astounding Rhythms, and a huge dose of improvisation that promises to get even the most Sedentary Foot Tapping. Fronted by Nhoza Sitsholwana and Richard Pryor. They will be delivering a high class intimate live Music Experience that will last from the very first song till long after the show ends.
