Bernadette Richards

--------------------

Bernadette Richards is from Cape Town and holds a lifelong appreciation for music and the arts. Her first foray into creativity came in the form of poetry, which was initially inspired by the Beat Poets. Some of her poems are published on Poetry Potion’s online platform. After decades long absence she returned to picking up the guitar and was simultaneously propelled into songwriting. She enjoys listening to a range of genres, though her foundational influences are classic rock, blues, grunge, folk, alternative and indie rock.

--------------------

Andy Hoyle

--------------------

Andy Hoyle is a guitarist/singer/songwriter often found playing at live music venues such as Barristers, Quay 4, Ferrymans, Chardonnay Deli (Uitsig, Constantia and Dalebrook), Dias Tavern Town and Villagers, The Wild Fig, Tapas, Sirocco, Kelvin Grove, etc.

--------------------

MobeyDick ft. Kathy Eggers and David Greenwood

--------------------

Jasper Dick is a singer/songwriter based in Cape Town, South Africa. A jack-of-all-trades, he loves to create original songs in a wide variety of styles from folk and rock to blues and kwela, whatever can be used to elicit an emotional response. The lyrical content of the songs is equally varied with themes of politics, war, love, and heartbreak, mixed with more upbeat and humorous numbers. Jasper also loves to interpret covers to suit a stripped-back acoustic performance.

Claire Mobey is a Capetonian singer and has been writing her own songs, on her old nylon-string guitar, since the age of 13. Based on life experience, Claire’s songs are written from the heart, and range from being the heartbroken one to breaking her own hearts along the way, with some rock-and-roll mixed in just for good measure!

Jasper and Claire started collaborating as MobeyDick in 2021, after years of promising to meet up and jam. Friends since pre-school, it’s taken decades, a mutual love of music, and a global pandemic to finally get these playground friends on stage together.

MobeyDick is returning to The Barleycorn for the fourth time and is super excited to share the show in collaboration with Kathy Eggers and David Greenwood!
