FEATURING:

--------------------

--------------------

Avi Ramgoolam (Avi2.oh)

--------------------

I grew up on the music of the folk-rock legends of the time, taught myself how to play the guitar, and did covers of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, James Taylor, The Eagles, and the like. Until very recently my audience was made up of my family, and friends.

During Covid, with time on my hands, I decided to improve my craft and, with new found inspiration, wrote and published my first original, Over African Skies, at the age of 70. I followed up with another, Mayth (short for May the Eighth) a while later. I am continuing to work on new material, having fun, experiencing fulfilment, and feeling grateful.

--------------------

Simon-Peter

--------------------

Simon-Peter is a talented musician whose original compositions blend the raw energy of Bruce Springsteen, the vibrant flair of The Killers, and the heartfelt simplicity of folk music. With a voice that echoes the soulful resonance of Memphis, he crafts songs that are both emotionally compelling and richly textured. His unique sound creates a bridge between classic rock and contemporary indie, capturing the essence of storytelling through music.

--------------------

FINTRY & Terrence Scarr

--------------------

FINTRY : a unique sibling band consisting of Caroline, Julie and Jonny Blundell, together with the gifted violinist Terrence Scarr. Acoustically driven (mostly original) songs with folk, blues, African, celtic and country influences, close harmonies, and beautiful intricate guitar picking.

The Blundells grew up making music together as a family, led by their well- known father Keith Blundell. Over the years they have performed widely at music festivals,  in live venues, on TV and radio, both in South Africa and abroad. They have performed individually and together in many different bands in a wide range of genres.

Caroline plays guitar and banjo and composes much of the material they perform. Jonny plays guitar and dobro and also composes.  Julie plays electric bass, and all three of them sing with lots of harmony included.

Terrence is a wonderful violin player, comfortable in folk genres, equally adept at reading and improvising.  He was the head of music at Rondebosch Boys High School for many years, and has recently retired.
