We have another stellar lineup coming to Barleycorn next week Monday! A wide range of original sounds from acoustic ballads and blues to light rock and poetic storytelling. Featuring Lauren Goldman, Emmaleen, and The Lucent taking the stage as the headline act. Join us for some amazing original, local music!

Doors open at 6:30pm - Music from 7:30pm!

Lauren Goldman

Lauren has played at the Barleycorn a few times over the years but hasn't played publicly in 2 years. She will be playing her own creations and a couple of arias this evening.

Emmaleen

--------------------

Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Swakopmund Namibia, Emmaleen's dark poetic storytelling cut deep to the human condition. Exploring a soulful mix of acoustic styles with roots in old time blues; featuring banjo and resonator guitar.

Emmaleen has recently released two albums ''Songs from the Unseen, the Unsaid and the Unborn" in 2022 and ''The Sun will Still Shine when you Die" in 2023.

The Lucent

The band started around 2010 as a group of mussos just getting together to jam. We named the band "After Dark", but subsequently changed the name to "The Lucent".

Originally we only played covers, primarily from the classic rock era, but over time we started to write our own material, as well as play more contemporary rock. Today, our repertoire is about 70% original material and 30% covers, which range from the classic rock sound and ballads, to modern contemporary rock bands. Our original material covers ballads to rock and all songs tell a story. The covers we play are the lesser known numbers, as opposed to the numbers covered by most bands.

Our lineup is:

Lynn Dixon - Vocals, keyboards, guitar. Lynn also writes.

Jeff Rainsford - Drums. Jeff writes lyrics to which we then add music.

Ghalik Jacobs - Bass. Ghalik also composes and records, but is new to the band, so we have no originals from him yet.

Joe Brink - Guitar. Joe is also new to the band, as well as being the youngest member. In addition to playing for The Lucent, Joe also plays for a school rock band as well as a jazz band.
