Hello Barleycorn Family & Friends


Join us at the Barleycorn this Monday, April 20th, for a stellar show featuring everything from seasoned storytelling to powerhouse performances.


Leonard Moss opens the night with original tracks from their album Hawks and Doves, drawing on Leonard’s background as a thespian and his years of experience performing across the Cape. 


Followed by poet and singer-songwriter Len Verwey, whose performance features intricate guitar work and an understated voice that brings his quiet, lingering songs to life. 


Amy Tjasink closes the show with the magnetic intensity and sharp lyricism that saw her reach the finals of The Voice SA, moving effortlessly between folk and pop with a presence that is bold, brilliant, and unforgettable.

Leonard Moss

Leonard, apart from being a thespian in his days, brings you original songs from his album entitled, “Hawks and Doves” three years ago. He has played in duos, trios and four ous, doing popular covers from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and nawtys. Most recently in the critically acclaimed, “Best of British supper club show”, and more recently Southern Crossroads show that will be performing for your edification on the 24th of April at WPCC bowling club.

Len Verwey

Len Verwey is a South African poet and singer-songwriter living in Cape Town. He has published two collections of poetry, In a language that you know and Loving the dying, and will be recording his first full length album of songs early in 2026. His intimate, sometimes intricate guitar playing is influenced by a wide spectrum of players and cultures, and his understated voice brings his songs to life quietly and in ways that often linger after the hearing.
