Join us for an exciting night of rock & roll featuring the experimental two-piece Stonehouse, who take listeners on a twisting sonic journey rooted in '70s folk, blues, and rock with modern ska and reggae influences; the powerful three-piece outfit On the Edge, known for their extensive original rock, indie, and rockabilly songs playlisted on various radio stations; and the veteran fingerstyle and blues guitarist Virgil Ellis and his four-piece band Freeride, playing a vibrant mix of original material. Stonehouse

Stonehouse is a Cape Town based musical experience rooted in the sound of early 70s folk, blues and rock and roll- while incorporating more modern influences of ska, reggae and alternative rock. They also bring in radical experimentation and improvisation in their sets and aim to take the listener on twisting sonic journey where the band explores along with the audience. Their sounds are crafted- by and for music lovers- to keep the jams alive.

On the Edge

On the Edge is a band for all occasions, having played in shows showcasing their original songs which have been playlisted on various radio stations. Their musical styles incorporate Rock, Indie & Rockabilly. They’ve also played extensively at venues all around Cape Town at weddings, birthday functions, pubs, sports clubs, etc. The band has an extensive repertoire to cater for a wide variety of music. This 3 piece outfit is sure to liven up any party and consists of the following members: Rick Drew - ‘Rickabilly’ on drums & vocals, Hilton Milward bass guitar and vocals & Mike Taffinder lead guitar & vocals.

Virgil Ellis & Freeride

Virgil has been making music since his early teens and has been part of numerous Duo’s & bands. As a finger style & blues guitarist he took the folk scene by storm in the eighties which led to the opening of his guitar school. He is joined by Pierre on bass, Duncan on drums and Paul on percussion playing some of Virgil’s originals and new original material.
