Hello Barleycorn Family & Friends

We won’t be having a show on Monday 27th April, Freedom Day, but we’ve got a fantastic bill lined up for Monday, May the 4th, bringing you an awesome mix of thought provoking songs and storytelling and top-class blues.

Brad Klein starts the evening with a guitar in hand, sharing songs born from a lockdown bucket list and a determination to find his voice through original music. He is followed by the Dale Collins Duo, as the local stalwart steps away from the big band sound to perform thought-provoking originals about life under Southern skies alongside bassist Gustav Franzsen. High-End Blues closes the night with soul and passion, as this ensemble of talented friends delivers a high-energy performance aimed at invoking emotion through the heart of the blues.

FEATURING:

--------------------

--------------------

Brad Klein

--------------------

Played in cadet band and started a garage band and was told by some rock musician I’m tone deaf and would do everyone a favour if I shut up.. i shut up singing anything for about 40 years until one day I said dang it I wanna sing. i quickly learned hank Williams Jambalaya. I had been jamming guitar around campfires and putting kids to sleep etc so i kept the rhythm going. Then i got covid 3 times and brain fog followed with some depressed thoughts and a friend said channel the thoughts into music by writings songs so I did. i created my bucket list during lockdown and it only consists of me going on a busking tour of Europe when my last kid educates from Stellies.

The fantasy of being discovered on the web and going viral for a day and being discovered is what i tell everyone, however I’m very rooted in the music and therefore I’m my own personal rockstar. All i need are the fans.

Dale Collins Duo

--------------------

Dale has been a stalwart of the local music scene and is best known for his work with the Boulevard Blues Band.

Having been persuaded to dust off some of his original songs by his good friend, Gustav Franzsen – who will be accompanying Dale on bass guitar – you can expect to hear a set of thought-provoking songs about everyday life under our mostly sunny, but sometimes sullen Southern skies.
