We’ve got another great lineup for you this Monday, June 1st, bringing you a relaxed evening of storytelling, acoustic grooves, and atmospheric rock.
Avi Ramgoolam opens the night, sharing original music inspired by the timeless sounds of folk-rock legends, a craft he beautifully refined over the last few years. He is followed by AL Mountain, who brings a vibrant mountainside energy to the stage with guitar-driven melodies blending elements of jazz, rock, and hip-hop. To close the evening, SpieēlBeeld takes the spotlight, a four-piece outfit delivering a heartfelt alternative twist of Afrikaans and English songs that blend raw emotion with atmospheric melodies and a touch of fun.

I grew up on the music of the folk-rock legends of the time, taught myself how to play the guitar, and did covers of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, James Taylor, The Eagles, and the like. Until very recently my audience was made up of my family, and friends.
During Covid, with time on my hands, I decided to improve my craft and, with new found inspiration, wrote and published my first original, Over African Skies, at the age of 70. I followed up with another, Mayth (short for May the Eighth) a while later. I am continuing to work on new material, having fun, experiencing fulfilment, and feeling grateful.

Hailing from a mountainside near Cape Town, AL blends a diverse array of influences to create a unique and vibrant sound on which to carry his message. Armed only with a guitar, AL produces grooves and melodies carrying elements of jazz, rock, hip-hop and more that are sure to get your foot tapping and bring a little light to your day.
