Finally, security updates can be downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog. The Microsoft Update Catalog provides a searchable catalog of content made available through Windows Update and Microsoft Update, including security updates, drivers and service packs. By searching using the security bulletin number (such as, "MS07-036"), you can add all of the applicable updates to your basket (including different languages for an update), and download to the folder of your choosing. For more information about the Microsoft Update Catalog, see the Microsoft Update Catalog FAQ.
I've had most of my luck identifying the video/sound cards by taking pictures, writing down whatever brand/model numbers I can find on each card, and google image searching. EBAY actually has returned the most matches for me, and from there I can get the full model name & number, which I then take and go on my search for drivers.
Thank you for that. I had the same idea late last night. I managed to track down every driver on that page save for the modem. Of course I dont care about the modem but I still want to have a clear Device Manager =D
Thank you for that. I had already dumbed my way around to finding everything using that archive.org download list. The only yellow error I still have in my Device Manager is the PCI Communication Device which I'm guessing is the modem. I'll try that drivers CD and a win2k CD.
Sorry, that was a problem of my own making - on the driver download page I listed earlier I omitted to check all the sub-links actually went somewhere useful and in this case the modem link wasn't archived on Wayback. Fix was easy though - I just checked back through the other 7 older archived modem links till I found one with filenames then tracked them down online.
I hve Dualboot win10 and Ubuntu 22.04. In windows priner and scanner work fine. But after I installed Ubuntu 22.04 it only print blank sides. In win10 it print ok. I tryed install drivers but allways the same blank sites. Do I need to go back to ubuntu 20.04 where all worked fine.
I have a Officejet 7310 All in one printer which has been working fine for many years doing duplex printing. After the 'upgrade' to windows 10 I managed to download the revised printer software but it will not accept the duplex printer. I have gone through the print prefereneces and set it as duplex - antomatically but every time you you click on the 'Finishing' tab it only prvides the - Print On Both Sides (Manually) option. Am I doing something wrong? Any help will be much appreciated.
I installed windows 10 and now the printer will not duplex print. I made sure that the "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers" config had set the Printer Properties / Device Settings / Installable Options / Duplex Unit = Installed
Is this a problem with Windows 10?
Since many many years I own a HP Color Laserjet 2550L for home and small office use and it has been a marvelous device ever since. It's fast, it prints perfect quality prints, it's easy to use and it has been reliable. Hardware wise that is...
I started using this printer on Windows XP. The printer software came from HP and was very complete. Monitoring and configuring the HP2550L was easy and manual duplex printing was a default option in the driver software.
Over time I upgraded to Windows 7 and trouble was introduced. Manual duplex printing disappeared from the 2550L driver in Windows 7 but after a driver tweak, installing the Laserjet 2700 driver returned the option, we all got along again and lived happily ever after... till Windows 10 showed up.
Now Microsoft and HP, what the heck...!? Manual duplex printing is gone, even for the 2700 PCL driver, printer sharing over the network is a nightmare and the 2550 PCL driver is slow as hell. After hours of trial and error figuring out installing the 2550 PS driver returns fast printing, this whole experience for me as an end users has been an experience of frustration and horror.
. Additional optional enhancements are available, such as a finisher, scanner, fax, separator and more. The low cost per page, fast output, high quality printing, and available options make the CopyStar CS-2550 an excellent small workgroup printer/copier.
