Subject: My Dad
This is what is going on with my Dad?
took Mom to Borgess last night and we got there before Dad did but we didn't
have to wait too long before he arrived by ambulance. The on-call doctor
came in soon after he arrived and checked him out. He was on IV medication
for an increased
heartbeat, she said that at one point his heart rate was
200, I guess that is high because I don't know what is considered normal. He
was having pain in his abdomen, when she pushed on it he winced in pain, not
sure what that is all about. At this point we have to wait until they take
tests and decide what his problem is and what the fix is. The doctor asked
about whether or not they should resuscitate in the event that his heart
should stop beating, she asked Dad and of course he wouldn't give her an
answer, he just kept referring to Mom that she should answer. We finally
agree that they should resuscitate and then the family would decide from
there what should be done. He was awake and as alert as he ever is but he
didn't feel good and kept saying that he hurt all over. When I hear more I
will let you know.
The doctor told us to go home and not to spend the night. I'm at work today
and will be in a meeting
from 8:30 - 12.
Love,
Marcia
