This mod adds massive amounts of color and detail to the battle/dialogue sprites in the game! It will take some time, and several updates, to get a full release but we do hope that this project will fill you with the DETERMINATION to see it through alongside us!
Sans's shoes? Are you talking about how in the game it looks like he's wearing slippers but on his cannon Steam card it looks like he's wearing sneakers? If you are, it was a tuff choice and in the end, slippers just seemed more like Sans's style.
That question has plagued me for years. As badly as I want it as BADLY as I need it, I can't find a way. But that's no reason to lose hope! Somehow the creator of the "Fix Frisk" mod was able to edit the newest version of Undertale's sprites. I tried to contact them on how this was possible! But they have not messaged me back yet, to be fair they have not been visited the site since June first.
Heya, just wondering, have you heard back from them or figured it out? I've been trying to replace the Frisk Sprites for Undertale, and TranslaTale doesn't work with the newest versions of Undertale so accessing the new sprites, not to mention creating and inserting a new data.win, is, well, oof.
Whoops sorry! I forgot to get back with you. Yes, we did find a way to make the mod compatible with the latest version of Undertale! But we never heard anything back from the creator of the "Fix Frisk" mod. Instead, we found a way to do it our self. I'd be glad to share all the details with you through Discord. You can find me as "Michael King #4741".
Go to where you have the game installed. First, open your "File Explorer" go to Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Undertale. Then just drag and drop the "data.win" file into Undertale's game folder say yes to the overwrite and tada! You got color!
Aw, man, it would sweet! But you can't... yet! We're not sure how or when we can make this mod compatible with home consoles but we could probably make this happen someday with the Homebrew App. But for now, it's not available for the PS4.

Yes, that's how I make updates. You will need some external programs to extract the sprite sheets and those are not provided with the mod. The best thing I can tell you is just Google how to edit Undertale's sprites and then you can extract these sprites from your modded data.win file edit them and then reimport them to the data.win file. One more thing, if you're doing this just to your copy that's fine. But If you're doing to make your own mod and you will be using our sprites I only ask that you created us for our work.
I mean, sure I can make you a custom version of the mod with your sprite sheets. But I find it highly unlikely I would use your sprites in this mod as an update. I see this more as a personal love fueled project. Just message me your sprite sheets and I'll see what I can do!
Thanks! We're working super hard on it! As an answer to your question not just yet, there are a few more sprites that need to be colored like Lesser Dog, Papyrus's attacks, and most of the monsters in the Hotland and the CORE. But a large chunk of the Pacifist Route is complete. As for the Genocide Route we've hardly touched it, so none of its bosses are in color yet.
There's no real flow to when I release an update. I just work on this mod in my spare time, this is just a hobby, so I can't give you a date when the next one will be out. Because I don't know myself! Asriel Dreemurr has not been colored yet, and we will be coloring in the Amalgamations first and then Asriel.
is sans done? I love the music and the sprites but sans i really want him finshed but I know you are working hard and I don't want to put so much pressure on your shoulders if not then tell me how to color the sprites please. Love the mod
Sorry that I took so long to respond. Right now Sans in not in color but we are working on him as I type this! And he should be included in the next version update. Thank you so much for your patience and support!
This is for the latest version of Undertale, v1.08. But right now there are a bunch of sprites errors so if this is going to be your first time using this mod. I suggest waiting for the next update then we'll have everything fixed. ;D
I'm glad you asked! There are some key differences between these two mods. While the Colored Sprites Mod is 100% completed it's only compatible with v1.001 and it does not add borders or the Mad Mew Mew boss fight. As for the Remastered Mod, the main reason it's NOT 100% complete is that its sprites are far more detailed so it takes more time to color them. But I would say that the mod is about 80% finished. Also, the Remastered Mod adds borders and the Mad Mew Mew boss fight! But if you asking me which one you should install. I'd have to say that's your choice. But if you choose to download the Remastered Mod then you should wait for the next update. (v0.6.1) I found a bunch of small mistakes and I'm going to fix them in the next update. It won't be just a few more days before I publish it!
It looks like we're have some minor issues with the program that we use to create patches that we update the mod with. So it's going to take longer then we would like to release this next update. But that just means we'll have more time to add more colored sprites to add to this next update!
2. Uninstall Undertale for your Steam library and reinstall it. Then just drag and drop all the contents of the mod into Undertale's game folder and apply the patch. None of this will affect your game's save files. And try using the UNDERTALE.exe inside Undertale's game folder again.
I am trying to apply the patch but not only does it say "xd3_invalid_input", but it also deletes the data.win, making the game unplayable and I have to reinstall it. Do you know how I can patch it without problems?
No need to worry this is a common issue. And it's super easy to fix! First what your going to have to do is go into your Steam's game library right-click UNDERTALE and unstill it from your PC. This will not erase your saves and then reinstall it. At this point, you sure make sure you're using the most up to date version of the game (v1.08). After that just drag and drop the contents of the mod once again into Undertale's game folder double click "Apply_Mod." This should fix the issue. And if not let me know! Because I have a backup plan.
Mettaton is a major character and the fourth boss in Undertale. Mettaton is a robot with a SOUL, whose body was built by Alphys. He is the sole television star of the Underground. Mettaton poises as an entertainment robot turned human killing robot in Hotland, though he later reveals the truth to the protagonist at the end of the CORE.
Mettaton originally appears as a gray, largely rectangular box with a 4x5 grid of rectangular lights at the top, similar to the mechanism in Snowdin Forest used for Papyrus's Tile Puzzle. The grid of lights can change colors between red, yellow, green, and blue, and Mettaton uses these color changes in place of facial expressions. He has four dials along the bottom of his body, and the bottom, he has a single leg which ends in a wheel. He has two segmented robotic arms which end in white gloves.
After having the switch on his back flipped in the Neutral or True Pacifist Route, Mettaton transforms into Mettaton EX; a new body he specially requested Alphys make for him. In this humanoid form, he has black hair with a long fringe that seems to cover his right eye, pale "skin" and visible metal segments below and above his left eye.
He has a pink chest piece, a narrow metallic waist with a box contraption, and black shoulder pads above his segmented arms, which end in gloves. The chest piece has what appear to be a speaker and some knob or gauge, while the waist has two parts that seem to act as a locking mechanism that holds his "heart-shaped core," as they both lose white pixels during his "heart-to-heart" attack. His long black-clad legs end in pink high-heeled boots.
After being confronted by the protagonist on the Genocide Route, Mettaton transforms into Mettaton NEO, which resembles Mettaton EX, but has a more combat-oriented design, however Mettaton NEO can be killed by a single attack and has no attacks of his own.
His right forearm is replaced by what appears to be a cannon, pauldrons clad his shoulders, which are shaped like legs and are longer than his arms, and he has wings on his back. The soul on his waist points upwards in a more monster-like manner, and he has a heart shape engraved on his chest plate like Undyne the Undying, also mimicking the Delta Rune in the same ways. His hair on the right side is spiked out, revealing an entirely black segment of his face, with a sparkle or crosshair in place of his right eye.
Mettaton is a confident, charismatic, and charming TV host that loves drama, action, and violence. He lives for his ratings and adores performing. He supposedly strikes a pose when he does something wrong and makes time on his various shows to beat up "heel-turning villains." He shows a rather shallow appreciation for existence at times. He has a strong craving for attention and seems very egotistical, shown when he boasts about the beauty of his true form. However, despite his seemingly self-centered personality, he deeply cares about the seemingly positive impact his show has had on the inhabitants of the Underground. He has also shown soft spots for several characters, such as Alphys and Napstablook. He also appears to be among the fewer characters in the Underground that has no hate or prejudice against humans despite knowing about the monsters' history with them, since his initial attempts to kill the protagonist were just him playing along with Alphys's plan, and he outright tells the protagonist he has no desire to hurt humans and is far more interested in simply entertaining. While he did attempt to kill the protagonist, it was to prevent Asgore from taking their SOUL and be seen as a hero/savior to humankind, further emphasizing his lack of prejudice. On the flip side, he has also been noted to be a very demanding boss who is very unpleasant to work for, especially according to Burgerpants, who initially considered working for him a dream, but has since grown to strongly despise him.
