hello all,

( sorry for my english , i'm french  )

i'm under an french educ version of bareos based on eole 2.7.1 / ubuntu 18.04 x64
the eole version of bareos is 16.2 with a lot of bug and no rapid upgrade planned to 18.2/19.2

i want to migrate on an standard ubuntu server and upgrade bareos to the last stable version ( 18.2 / 19.2 if released )
i want to preserve all job done and tape archived
i have a library  with 30 LTO6 tape and 1 drive
i actualy save 8 servers (Linux & Win ) and planned to add 2 big file server ( 9To )
the actual volume is 10 LTO tape at 2.5To  with full/diff/inc pool and planning

i have read all the docs of bareos but not find a real upgrade process

i have  few questions :

can i migrate from 16.2 directly to 18.2/19.2   ?
which linux version is the most adequate to bareos ?
can i migrate from mysql to posgres ?

i plan to process like this:
- save bareos dir
- dump the db mysql
- install the linux server from scratch
- install bareos 16.2 on it with the 16.2 repository
- restore bareos dir
- restore the db
- test bareos ( the linux migration is done )
- change bareos repository/key
- apt-get update

is it the good way ?

thanks by advance
Pierre
