Hi Guys,

is there any option for resuming failed Jobs? Lets say a Backupjub went fine to about 95% percent of a huge backup mass and the connection breaks. Can i do anything else except Rerun jobid=n which let this job run from scratch?

Thanks, kind regards and a nice WE,

Chris

Hello everybody,

it is correct that we do not have a resume function, sorry.

Our idea is to make the network connection more robust in the future
so that we do not have to resume often.

Best regards,

Philipp

Good Morning Philipp,

what about the idea of a kind of "virtualfull" based on a broken backup to resume it? I didn't look beyond the code yet but maybe thats an idea how to get a better solution beneath the more robust connection?

Kind regards,

Chris

Hello Chris,

yes, do implement something like resume we would for sure need something that compares
what has been backed up with what would be backed up to only backup what is missing.

I think that would have to be implemented with the accurate mechanism, which sends the info of
files existing in the backup and the fd then compares what would be backed up and can
skip what already has been backed up.
