Virtual Full to another SD

I see that 11 years ago someone asked about this and the answer was that this isn't possible.

Is it still the case that one cannot execute a Virtual Full backup between storage daemons?

I've got one setup with access to all of the disk and one with access to my tape library and I'd like to do a virtual full from the disk (always incremental) to the tape (for offsite).

I tried setting it up and got an error that the storage type isn't recognized by the storage daemon. It appears that bareos is trying to read the files from the storage daemon that has access to the tape library.

I just found the warning at the bottom of https://docs.bareos.org/TasksAndConcepts/AlwaysIncrementalBackupScheme.html#virtual-full-jobs that states this is the case.

Yes that appears to be the case. 

What you are describing doing virtual fulls disk to tap for offsite is what I do but it’s a single sd using sneaker net. 

Maybe you could hack something doing the virtual full as an archive job then do a copy job the. Delete the fist copy.  Sounds convoluted though. 

Maybe you could use an Ethernet to sas gateway or fcoe to use a remote library from the same sd over your network. Probably expensive depends on your data volume unless there is an open fcoe implementation similar to iscsi.

VirtualFull to the same storage daemon and then a Migrate job to the storage daemon with the tape library works.
