Hello,

I’m just preparing Bareos Packages for our backup clients, but I’m unable to compile the version combination mentioned in subject.

Steps to reproduce:

- clone version 23.1.1 from git
- copy a changeling to src/debian
- step into src
- dpkg-buildpackage -b

Compilation starts by checking the system and throws plenty of error messages. I can’t figure out, what is the root cause of the abortion. Doing the same with v23.1.0 on the same vm works like a charm, same with v23.1.1 on older Debian vms.

If necessary, I can provide CMakeError.log ond/or CMakeOutput.log.

Does anyone have a good hint how to continue?

Regards,
Andreas

To give the answer myself: 23.1.1 introduced a dependency to „utf8cpp“, which is fulfilled by installation of package libutfcpp-dev in Debian 12. Build-dependencies in shipped control file do not reflect this.

After installing the package, compilation works as expected.

Regards,
Andreas

Would you mind to open an issue on github (or a pr with the fix) so it didn't get lost ?
Thanks
