Afternoon all.

Hoping you guys can help me out, because I am confused.  After some trial and error I got Bareos working on my Unbuntu box, and it worked great.

Now, that box has been retired and I am running and IBM RS-6000 with AIX 5.3, with the same tape drive attached.

I am trying to figure out how to install Bareos on AIX, there is nothing listed on the download page, so I am assuming I have to pull down source code and compile, but I have no idea how to do that.  Can anyone give me directions.

I would greatly appreciate any help.  This is my home, hobby setup.

Well, after lots of trial and error I have gotten further than I was before.

I still don't think I am doing this right.

I downloaded the source 17.2 and I was able to run ./configure using mysql option and got call the way through.  Then ran make and got an error about missing a ";".

I am hoping someone can point me to a document that lists the steps for building, installing and configuring  from source.  Once I have things running I know how to configure the deamons, etc.

Even in case of compilation success, I am in doubt this is good idea.
RS6k+AIX are definitely big-endian architecture while most of backuped clients will be litle-endians.
The tape used there is SCSI and can work with any x86 server with SCSI adapter.
