Hi Evgenij,

the droplet library requires openssl 1.0 to build. As RHEL 8 does not
contain compat-openssl-devel, we cannot build droplet and thus cannot
build bareos-storage-droplet right now.

Best Regards,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

Thank you for this explaination.

As Debian have the same problem, do you have any plan in order to get S3 working on current recent distrib ? (Especially post-Heartbleed)
Do you have any plan in dropping Droplet support in favor of anything, maybe libcloud ?

Maybe your website and your documentation need some updates ?

By advance, thank you.

Hi Andreas, Thank you for answering

openssl 1.0 is outdated and, I think, it's not the best way to wait for compat-openssl-devel

the other way it adopt droplet code to the new openssl, eg v 1.1 api. Because of connection must be secured..

Pros
- TLSv1.3 support
- disabling SSLv2, SSLv3, TLSv1.0, TLSv1.1

Is there any other way to access S3 using bareos storage in a modern OS?

Bad point the storage service only supports C code because there are many Go libraries

P.s. I was able to compile Droplet source code with compat-openssl10-devel from feroda 30 on the centos 8
