Hello,

since there are only a few older articles on backing up a Windows hard drive with active deduplication, I’m starting a new thread.
I’m using BareOS 25.0.4 (server and agent) to back up approximately 1 TB spread across 3 drives on a Windows Server 2019. The BareOS full backup reports that 30 GB has been backed up (the job terminates successfully). Attempts to restore these files have been unsuccessful, restored files can´t be read by Windows.

Is setting `portable=yes` still the only workaround?

I’d appreciate any help.

I think it still is. If you actually need this to work without the
portable flag (as that has some drawbacks), we need to figure out how to
do it probably. There is something implemented that looks for the flags,
but apparently it does not work correctly.

Best Regards,
Andreas
