Hello,

I'm sorry, I already posted on the users-list, but maybe this list is the right one:

I already found some posts here, where people have been asking for Windows bare-metal recovery, so I know the way that is proposed saving C: and restoring it on a fresh installed system.

What I'd like to know, if there are any plans to implement a "real" bare-metal recovery function or something similar in Bareos?

As I know from OPSI, they have implemented a "Local Image Backup" invoking clonezilla I think. And with REAR there also already exists a "bare-metal recovery" way for Linux in Bareos.

It would be very very nice to have something similar for the Windows-Client!

Regards,
Ivan

Hello Ivan,

we've done some research about how to implement a BMR solution for
Windows and we have some ideas how this could be achieved.

Generally, we focus on development tasks that are either sponsored or
triggered by customers with subscriptions.
So, if someone has sponsoring funds available or there is a concrete
business case, we can move this topic upward on our priority list.

And of course, we are always open for community contributions.

Regards
Maik
