Exchange 100 - OPEN FOR SIGNUP

Our 100th print exchange is open for signup. In honor of our 100th print exchange and noting that Baren’s founding members were all mokuhanga printers, this is an ALL-MOKUHANGA exchange in a traditional “pillar print” format. 

Participation will be limited to 30 printmakers on a first-come basis. If more than 30 sign up, a waiting list will be created. In the event someone must drop out, the first on the waiting list will be bumped into the exchange.

Details:

• Medium: MOKUHANGA – Japanese technique woodblock printing
• Theme: Open
• Paper Size: Hashira-e (柱絵) 28 x 4.5 in (73 x 13 cm)
• Paper Type: Washi (traditional Japanese paper made primarily from kozo, mitsumata, or gampi fiber)

Deadlines:

• Registration period: April 1, 2025 to April 30, 2025
• Drop-out deadline: May 30, 2025 If you must drop out of the exchange, please do so as early as possible in order to give people on the waiting list time to complete and submit their prints.
• Mailing deadline for finished prints: June 30, 2025
• PLEASE carefully observe drop-out and delivery deadlines and print requirements. See Penalties in Exchange Rules.
