Fri Sat Jan 17 and 18 Celebrated violinist Erin Hennessey returns to the place that inspired her love of music, and joins the local chamber orchestra for two public concerts. Stravinsky's "Apollo and the Muses" ballet, the "Vox Amoris" by Peteris Vasks and Boccherini's Symphony in D major are all on the program, with maestro Jonathan Pasternack conducting.
Hennessey, who grew up in Port Angeles, now lives in London, where she's a doctoral candidate at the Royal Academy of Music. She also performs in the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and the Opera of Ireland as a freelance violinist, and is an avid chamber musician.
Here are the details about her two concerts as featured soloist with the Port Angeles Symphony Chamber Orchestra: On Friday, the orchestra will step up at 7 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Lopez Ave., Port Angeles; then on Saturday the 7 PM concert will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim.
